The team was looking to evolve an existing logo for CAPE: Computer and Programming Experience. They wanted to modernize the shield-shaped logo and incorporate all of the colors in the Google color palette. The four bars represent the four areas: Students, Parents, Educators and World.

EARLY EXPLORATIONS:

"SHEILA IS NOTHING SHORT OF AN EXEMPLARY BUSINESS PARTNERSHIP. AT GOOGLE, IT'S RARE TO FIND AN EXTERNAL PARTNER WHO NOT ONLY THINKS CREATIVELY AND IS FUN TO WORK WITH, BUT ALSO UNDERSTANDS OUR BRAND AND NEVER FAILS TO DELIVER. NOT TO MENTION SHE GOES OUT OF HER WAY TO FIND SOLUTIONS TO CHALLENGING REQUESTS FROM OUR TEAM. WHENEVER WE HAVE A NEW PROJECT AND NEED GRAPHIC DESIGN SOLUTIONS DONE QUICKLY AND EXACTLY TO OUR LIKING -- WE CONFIDENTLY REACH OUT TO SHEILA."

"By building community among leaders, activists, and advocates for CS education, we will bring voice and awareness to expanded access." Keywords the team asked to be explored were global, community, awareness, access, advocacy, impact, make a difference and inspiration.

The finished logo shows an icon of a globe which is supported by an arm that leads out to the Google logo. The teams at Google were directed to a more standard lockup as opposed to a standalone logo. The Google logo is incorporated for this reason.
